Announcement on postponing next Toyamura International Sculpture Biennale
The Toyamura International Sculpture Biennale has been held at two-year intervals since 1993 and it reached eighth meeting last year. We express our cordial thanks
to the sculptors who had submitted their works, all the other people concerned for their tremendous support and cooperation.
Through the "small sized" sculptural biennale with the theme, A Universe in the Palm of Our Hand , we send out our original culture to the world and based on this
cultural activity, the town looked to be revitalized and designed itself to be a cultural atmosphere.
In recent years, the financial environment surrounding many local governments is difficult. Our town also has an urgent task in financial condition to be improved. Despite of long standing activity, it is unfortunate that we discontinue Toyamura International Sculptural Biennale for the moment.
Today, we are in the process of opening Toyako Museum of Art. The museum will display the prize-winning and selected sculptures from the biennale in the past,
town-owned sculptures, and some literatures. We will be engaged in future cultural activities with the Toyako Museum of Art which will open in April 1st this year. We look forward to your continued acquaintance.
Reopening of Toyamura International Sculpture Biennale will be announced through our web site. We again would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting Toyamura International Sculptural Biennale.
